A professional will almost always be able to be a more thorough job than a resident when it comes to roof cleaning, because of the equipment we have access to. There are a couple of things that you should know though if you are attempting to clean your tile roof, as some aspects will differ from cleaning a more traditional roof material.

Your main weapon in this battle will be a pressure washer. You need to be careful though, tile is tricky, you need to have your pressure washer set around 1200-1500 psi to adequately clean while at the same time not causing any erosion to the roofs surface. In addition, tile can get slippery, and often times can’t support as much weight in a concentrated area as other roofing materials. For this reason we suggest standing on plywood to not only provide a less slippery surface, but to also evenly distribute your weight.

There are also various cleaning chemicals that will help you to clean your roof, contact us first though, different chemicals work better for different surfaces. If you find yourself having any problems getting this roof cleaning done, feel free to give us a call and we will get your roof clean while you relax in the AC. You will also want to be sure that you dry any especially wet areas, to help combat efflorescene.
